As Thanksgiving arrives, I am reminded of the remarkable spirit that defines Alabama – a spirit rooted in faith, family, hard work, and genuine care for one another. Across our towns and cities, Alabamians in our neighborhoods and workplaces show every day what it means to serve with generosity and care with sincerity.

This season offers us a moment to pause and reflect on the blessings we share. We are grateful for our farmers who rise before dawn, teachers who nurture our children, small business owners who offer products and services we rely on every day, and first responders who stand ready in every circumstance.

We give heartfelt thanks to our health care workers and law enforcement officers whose dedication keeps our communities strong, and we offer our profound gratitude to the veterans whose courage and sacrifice protect the freedoms that make our nation and state exceptional.

Thanksgiving also calls us to extend compassion – to reach out to a neighbor, offer a helping hand, and ensure that no one faces hardship alone. What makes our state strong is our shared spirit. Alabamians stand together and rise after every challenge. We meet each moment with generosity and grace.

As we gather around our tables, whether surrounded by loved ones or sharing a quiet moment of reflection, may our hearts be filled with gratitude for the year behind us and renewed hope for the year ahead.

Happy Thanksgiving, Alabama. May God bless you and this great state we are honored to serve and call home.
