A Major Win for Northwest Alabama

New U.S. Navy Facility Coming to the Shoals— From the office of Congressman Robert Aderholt

A Major Win for Northwest Alabama
Rep. Robert Aderholt

From the office of Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-AL-04)

“After nearly six years of work to bring new industry to an unused facility in the Shoals, I’m proud to share some exciting news for Northwest Alabama.

“The U.S. Navy will hold a ribbon-cutting ceremony on March 20 for a major new defense industrial facility in Muscle Shoals. This 2.2-million-square-foot facility will anchor shipbuilding and maritime production in our region and serve as a powerful symbol of American defense strength.

“This project became possible through funding secured in the One Big Beautiful Bill, which included investments to expand America’s maritime industrial base and bring new shipbuilding capacity to Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District.

“I worked closely with federal partners and industry leaders to ensure that this long-vacant facility could be transformed into a major center for defense manufacturing. This investment will be truly transformative for the Shoals area and is expected to bring thousands of manufacturing jobs and new economic opportunities to Northwest Alabama.

“As current events continue to remind us, America needs strong sea power now more than ever. Alabama is ready to meet that challenge. This new site will help build a 21st-century collaborative defense manufacturing campus unlike anything currently operating in the country.

“I look forward to sharing more details about the ribbon-cutting ceremony and the production that will take place here in the coming weeks.

“It’s an exciting time for the Shoals and for Alabama’s Fourth Congressional District.”

Sincerely,

Robert B. Aderholt

Member of Congress
