The Alabama Associated General Contractors (AGC) have announced their support for Christina Woerner McInnis in the race for Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries.

Billy Norrell, CEO of the Alabama AGC, noted that McInnis’s business expertise and deep agricultural roots were key factors in the endorsement. “We are excited to support Christina Woerner McInnis for Commissioner of the Alabama Department of Agriculture and Industries,” he said. “Her family business background and her connection to our industry played an important role in this decision. We look forward to having her meet the members of our organization. They will see what we saw when deciding to endorse Christina for this position.”

McInnis is a fifth-generation farmer, a member of the Woerner family, owners of one of the nation’s largest sod farms. She carries on that legacy through her own business ventures. In 2019, she founded AgriTech Corp. and launched SoilKit, a soil‑testing tool aimed at helping landowners and professionals better manage soil health.

“I’m honored to receive the support of the Alabama AGC,” McInnis said. “Alabama’s agriculture and construction sectors go hand‑in‑hand when it comes to growing our rural economy and building for the future. I’m proud of my family’s legacy, and I’m committed to protecting Alabama farmland and helping our farmers thrive.”

McInnis also stressed her aim of increasing access to locally grown food. “We must do more to support farm‑to‑table efforts and healthy eating in our schools and communities,” she added. “As Commissioner, I’ll work to ensure Alabama agriculture isn't just growing, it's feeding our families.”

McInnis is focusing on safeguarding Alabama’s farmland, reducing red tape for agribusiness, and investing in infrastructure and supply chains that support agriculture and industry.

Her campaign launch was marked by a solid fundraising effort: $114,750 raised in the first month since May 19, outperforming her opponents.

Christina and her husband, Timothy, live in Orange Beach, where they are raising their four children.
