Alabama Democrats Name New Executive Director
“I look forward to utilizing my bevy of experience in campaign, policy and constituent work to continue the success of the ADP”—Mark Onorato
The Alabama Democratic Party (ADP) announced Tuesday that Mark Onorato will become its new Executive Director.
ADP Chairman Randy Kelley praised Onorato’s background and energy. “Mark is our new Executive Director and brings an array of field and legislative experience to the table,” Kelley said. “We look forward to the knowledge and fresh energy he will bring to our organization.”
Onorato holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Relations and Image Management from Texas Tech University. His earlier work includes time as a Field Organizer with the Montana Democratic Party, then Legislative Director in the Missouri House of Representatives, and Legislative Aid with the Texas Senate. In 2024, he worked as Regional Field Organizer for the North Dakota Democratic–Nonpartisan League Party.
Onorato commented on the role, saying: “I look forward to utilizing my bevy of experience in campaign, policy and constituent work to continue the success of the ADP and its leadership to get Democrats elected up and down the ballot.” He added that his focus will include “policy solutions that work for all Alabamians in opposition to this administration’s ruinous economic policies.”
This leadership change could mark a new chapter for the Alabama Democratic Party, which has faced tough odds in recent election cycles. Onorato’s campaign and legislative experience may be central as the party works to rebuild and compete for seats across the State.
