Alabama Forestry Association Backs Norman Crow in House District 63 Special Election
Special election primary will be held on Sept. 30, 2025

The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) has officially endorsed Tuscaloosa City Councilman Norman Crow as its pick for the special election in House District 63, set for January 13, 2026.
Tuscaloosa native Crow has served as Chairman of the Tuscaloosa County Industrial Development Authority. He was appointed by Governor Robert Bentley to serve on the Alabama Workforce Council in 2014 and was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Alabama Commission on High Education in 2017. He served both positions until 2022. He currently serves on the Tuscaloosa City Council.
Crow earned his accounting degree from the University of Alabama, is a Certified Public Accountant, and founded D.T. Freight, LLC in 2004. The company remains an active part of Tuscaloosa’s local economy.
AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson praised Crow’s grasp of the forestry sector and its role in the state’s economy, saying:
“Norman comes highly recommended from our Tuscaloosa area membership. With his experience in the trucking industry, Norman knows the impact the forest industry has on his District and the State, and we look forward to working with him.”
Crow responded to the endorsement, saying:
"I am honored to receive the Alabama Forestry Association's endorsement for the Alabama House District 63 special election. The forestry industry provides over a $36 billion impact to our economy and it is crucial that we continue to support the industry and all economic activities they provide to continue making our quality of life better in Alabama. I am grateful for their confidence in me and look forward to working together when I am elected in January."
This endorsement follows others from major Alabama groups. ProgressPAC, the pro-jobs arm of the Business Council of Alabama, named Crow as its pick in late July. These endorsements solidify his standing as a front-runner for District 63’s open seat—vacated when former Rep. Cynthia Almond was appointed to the Alabama Public Service Commission.
Crow’s endorsements highlight his appeal across both business and industry lines. AFA’s support, in particular, emphasizes his connection to a sector that impacts Alabama’s economy by more than $36 billion annually.
The special election primary will be on September 30, 2025 (with a possible runoff on October 28, 2025) followed by the special general election on January 13, 2026.
