The Alabama Forestry Association (AFA) has officially endorsed incumbent State Treasurer Young Boozer in his bid for re-election.

Boozer is currently serving his third term, having first been elected in 2010 and again in 2014. In 2021, Governor Kay Ivey appointed him to fill out John McMillan’s remaining term. He was then elected to a third full term in January 2023.

Before entering public service, Boozer built a strong career in banking and finance. His roles took him to Citibank in New York, Crocker National Bank in Los Angeles, Coral Petroleum in Houston, and Colonial Bank in Montgomery. From 2007 to 2010, he served as Deputy State Finance Director under Governor Bob Riley.

A native of Birmingham and raised in Tuscaloosa, Boozer holds a Bachelor’s degree in economics from Stanford University and a Master’s in finance from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.

“I appreciate the support of the Alabama Forestry Association for my reelection as Treasurer and look forward to continuing to preserve and protect all of the State’s financial resources,” Boozer said, expressing gratitude for the endorsement.

Chris Isaacson, AFA President and CEO, praised Boozer’s performance.

“Young has done, and will continue to do, an exceptional job serving as Alabama’s Treasurer,” Isaacson said. “His expertise and experience in the finance sector makes him a great fit for State Treasurer and we are proud to endorse him once again.”

Young Boozer is seeking another term as State Treasurer. The Republican primary is scheduled for Tuesday, May 19, 2026.
