Washington, D.C. — Alabama’s Republican Congressional delegation praised President Donald Trump’s speech before a joint session of Congress Tuesday evening on social media.

Senator Tuberville posted multiple short statements about the speech on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “President Trump is right: border security is national security. He is putting the safety of AMERICAN CITIZENS FIRST.” He went on to say that “Our neighboring countries are FINALLY pulling their weight to stop the flow of illegals and fentanyl into the US. America will no longer be taken advantage of.”

Senator Tuberville was also pleased with the President's energy policy, stating “It’s past time we UNLEASH American energy production and bring back energy independence.”

Sen. Katie Britt said, “President Trump is using the tools in his toolbox to keep our family safe and it’s your fairness for American workers. We want to drive crime and drug deaths down and wages up. This is the definition of America First.” She also remarked that “tonight, the President made it clear: we’re putting Americans first – securing our nation, making streets safe, growing our prosperity and then leashing our energy potential.”

Representative Robert Aderholt thanked the President and First Lady “ for their deep commitment to our most vulnerable. Child exploitation is unthinkable, and we must now work to make it unattainable.” He went on to say, “Like President Trump said tonight, we’re in the midst of a common sense revolution. There are only two genders-male and female. Congress will continue partnering with the president to ensure our policies reflect this truth.”

Rep. Gary Palmer said of the speech that “ President Trump just finished casting a vision for our country that renewed the American dream. We’re making America safe. We’re making America energy. Independent. We’re making America prosperous. We’re making America great again.”

Rep. Barry Moore said, “President Trump is fighting with us for the country we deserve. America’s Golden Age has only just begun! No more blank checks. No more disrespect. It’s time for peace. Thank you, President Trump, for putting America first! Military recruitment is up. American shipbuilders are getting the resources they need. Peace through strength!” He also commented that “Our government should be putting away dangerous, criminals, not political opponents. President Trump is ending the weaponization of our government!”

Rep. Dale Strong remarked that it was great to see one of his constituents from Decatur, Jeff Denard, honored by the President. Mr. Denard is a Nucor Steel worker, firefighter, and foster parent.

Rep. Strong said the speech that “ President Trump is delivering on his promises. He has secured our borders and is working to revitalize our economy. The United States is seen as a symbol of strength across the globe once again, and tonight‘s address proves that this administration is ready and willing to help hard-working American families.”

Rep. Mike Rogers hadn’t made any comments about the speech nor made a statement available to ALPolitics.com at press time.

Collectively, Alabama’s delegation portrayed Trump’s speech—the longest Presidential address to Congress on record at 1 hour and 40 minutes—as a strong statement of his promises and agenda. Their comments underscored an endorsement of his pledges, from tariffs to cuts in spending and the bureaucracy led by Elon Musk’s DOGE initiative. As Congress begins to legislate Trump’s agenda, Alabama’s lawmakers stand poised to support the goals he laid out Tuesday night.
