The following is a partial list of Acts signed by Governor Kay Ivey during the week of May 2–May 9, 2025. It only includes general bills that affect the entire State. It does not include single-County bills, Resolutions of any type, including Commendations, Congratulations, Honors or Mourning, or any Act relating to Sundown Laws and their extensions.

2025-251 (HB186) to make appropriations for the ordinary expenses of the executive, legislative and judicial agencies of the State, for other functions of government, for debt service, and for capital outlay for the physical year ending September 30, 2026
2025-252 (HB183) to make an appropriation of $37,616,436 from the Children First Trust Fund for the fiscal year in September 30, 2026, to the entities and for the purposes designated in the Code of Alabama; to provide for the deposit of tobacco settlement revenues, and the Children First Trust Fund…to make an appropriation of $44.177,773 from other tobacco settlement funds for the fiscal year in September 30, 2026; and to make a conditional appropriation and allocation of additional tobacco revenues

2025-271 (SB97) relating to the Department of Insurance and the licensing of a nonresident surplus line broker; to amend the Code of Alabama to further specify the requirements for licensure of nonresident surplus line brokers
2025-272 (SB110) relating to trucks; to amend the Code of Alabama to add certain trucks to those accepted from weight limits on highways; to revise and further provide procedures for using portable scales to enforce these weight limits; to revise the authority of individuals authorized to enforce these weight limits; and to make other changes to update the existing code language to current style
2025-273 (SB119) relating to firearms; to amend the Code of Alabama to further provide for the list of persons prohibited from possessing a firearm; to prohibit firearm possession by a person charged with certain felony offenses when the person has been released, pending, or during trial; to provide affirmative defenses; to provide criminal penalties for a violation; to increase the penalty for the offense of discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling, building, or other designated space; to provide grounds for revoking probation, or parole upon possession of a firearm; to provide for additional offenses that will allow a judge to deny bail under certain circumstances; and then connection there with would have as its purpose or affect the requirement of a new or increased expenditure of local funds within the meaning of the appropriate section of the constitution of ALABAMA
2025-274 (SB134) relating to pardons and parole; to amend the Code of Alabama to authorize the Board of Pardons and Parole to share electronic monitoring GPS data with law-enforcement agencies under certain circumstances
2025-275 (SB152) relating to insurance; to amend the Code of Alabama to correct internal citations to the code contained in the sections
2025-276 (SB183) relating to the Ma-Chis Lower Creek Indian Tribe; to authorize the tribe to employ certified police officers and to describe and limit the duties of tribal police officers
2025-280 (HB191) regarding sales and use tax; to establish conditions for exemption of county or municipal sales and use tax
2025-281 (HB200) to revise the Alabama business and nonprofit entity code
2025-282 (HB250) relating to candidates; to amend the Code of Alabama to provide further for the filing of statements of economic interests by candidates with the State Ethics Commission
2025-283 (HB258) relating to elections; to amend the Code of Alabama to change the primary election and off – presidential years to the Tuesday in May preceding Memorial Day
2025-286 (SB303) relating to the School Principal Leadership and Mentoring Act; to revise the definition used to determine eligibility of principles and the assistant principles to receive an annual stipend
2025-287 (SB297) relating to the Office of Water Resources, to amend the Code of Alabama to provide that the division chief is an employee in the exempt service; and do further provide for the division chief’s duties and
2025-288 (SB45) relating to the Alabama Athlete Agents Commission; to amend the Code of Alabama to authorize the secretary of state to designate an individual to serve in his or her place on the commission; and to make revisions to update the existing code language to current style
2025-289 (SB242) to adopt and incorporate into the Code of Alabama those general and permanent laws of the state and acted during the 2024 regular session as well as the 2024 cumulative supplements to local law volumes
2025-293 (HB437) relating to public safety; to establish a shark alert system for Baldwin and Mobile counties (Lulu’s Law)
2025-294 (SB322) relating to community development districts; to amend the Code of Alabama to authorize the annexation of a certain type of community development district by a wet municipality in the county where the district is situated; and to further provide for the establishment of a certain type of community development district
2025-296 (HB477) relating to health benefits offered by a nonprofit organization; to authorize a nonprofit agricultural organization to offer health benefits to its members and their families under certain conditions
2025-297 (SB330) relating to municipal water works boards; to amend the Code of Alabama to further provide for the composition, manner of appointment and length of terms of members of certain municipal water works boards
2025-298 (HB181) to amend the Code of Alabama to allow the Alabama Building Renovation Finance Authority to issue bonds in an amount not to exceed $50 million for authorized projects
2025-299 (HB405) relating to the privilege assessment for nursing homes; to amend the Code of Alabama to extend the supplemental privilege assessment, the secondary supplemental privilege assessment, and the surcharge through August 30, 2028
2025-300 (SB140) relating to the Coach Safety Act; to amend the Code of Alabama to revise the definition of “youth athlete“; to provide procedures for the Department of Public Health to notify youth athletic associations that are noncompliant with the Coach Safety Act of their noncompliance; and to provide penalties for further no compliance
2025-301 (SB194) relating to agriculture authorities; to amend the Code of Alabama to authorize authorities to terminate or move easements on authority property via eminent domain
2025-302 (SB35) relating to crimes and defenses; to amend the Code of Alabama to add additional activity that would constitute the crime of sexual extortion
2025-303 (HB165) relating to state holidays; to amend the Code of Alabama to add Juneteenth as a state holiday
2025-304 (HB152) to provide for a state sales and use tax exemption for purchases of certain essential products
