Alabama Remembrance Ceremony for POW-MIAs to be held September 20 in Montgomery
POW-MIA (Prisoners of War - Missing in Action) Ceremony to begin at 10:45 AM at the State Capital

The State of Alabama will remember those Alabamians who served and have not yet returned home, as well as our Prisoners of War, on Saturday September 20, 2025. The Remembrance Ceremony will be held on the South lawn of the State Capital, adjacent to Washington Street, beginning at 10:30 AM.
At 10:45 AM, the POW-MIA flag will be delivered to the Ceremony by the American Legion Riders, who will have spent the previous two days carrying the flag from American Legion Posts and VFW posts across the northern areas of the state. As the flag is presented at each Post, it will be raised and honored.
During the Remembrance Ceremony, uniformed members of the United States Military will display plaques showing the number of Alabama service members who have not made it home.
The Missing Man Ceremony will be conducted under the direction of Linda Roloff.
The Keynote Speaker will be Alabama State Representative and Veteran Kenneth Pascal (R-Pelham). The Battle Hymn of the Republic will be performed by Lela Brown.
This annual REMEMBRANCE is conducted by Veteran Service Organizations, the City of Montgomery, the State of Alabama and other parties who "WILL NEVER FORGET!"
Wreaths will be laid by Gold Star Families and VSO Auxiliary organizations.
Anyone who can attend, should attend. The Ceremony is expected to last approximately 1:15—-1:30 hours.
