Alabama Republican Party Announces New Staff Structure

HOOVER, Ala. — The Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) recently announced an updated staff structure designed to strengthen party operations and enhance statewide communications efforts as the Party continues building momentum ahead of the upcoming election cycle.

Since taking office on March 7, 2026, Chairman Scott Stadthagen has emphasized organizational growth, operational efficiency, and stronger support for county and district leadership across Alabama. Following a comprehensive internal review and ongoing conversations with party leaders statewide, ALGOP has implemented a strategic realignment of staff responsibilities to better position the Party for long-term success.

As part of the restructuring, Jeannie Burniston will transition from her previous role as Director of Communications & Legislative Affairs into the newly expanded position of Director of State Party Development & Field Operations. In this role, Burniston will oversee county party infrastructure, coalition engagement, grassroots training, volunteer coordination, and statewide organizational alignment to further strengthen the Party’s political operation across Alabama. Burniston brings more than a decade of experience in communications, legislative strategy, and political operations, including serving as Executive Director of the Jefferson County Republican Party and working on dozens of campaigns throughout the state.

Additionally, Madeline Priestley has been named Communications & Marketing Director after previously serving as Director of Member Services. In her new role, Priestley will lead the Party’s communications strategy, including social media, website management, press releases and statements, etc. A graduate of The University of Alabama with a degree in Communications and Information Sciences, Priestley holds a major in Public Relations and a minor in Political Science and brings extensive experience in messaging, marketing, and brand strategy to the position.

Chief of Staff Shannon Whitt stated, “We are incredibly excited about the direction our team is heading. This restructuring allows each staff member to operate in the areas where they are strongest, ultimately providing enhanced support and stronger resources for Republicans across Alabama.”
