The Alabama Federation of Republican Women (AFRW) proved once again that winning never gets old, bringing home a remarkable slate of awards at the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) Biennial Convention in Orlando, Florida. From record-breaking membership growth to impactful community service, Alabama Republican women dominated the national stage.

AFRW claimed top national honors, including:

  • Greatest Numerical Net Increase in Clubs Award
  • Greatest Numerical Increase in Members Award
  • National Armed Services Award – for updating the State of Alabama “War on Terror” Memorial at the Alabama State Capitol, which honors Alabama service members who lost their lives in the War on Terror. Sergeant Amanda Brazeal of Mobile was added to the memorial.
  • The Betty Heitman Award for State Excellence – recognizing outstanding performance in membership, campaign activities, programs, and community outreach.
  • Literacy & Education Award – for advancing education and literacy programs statewide.

South Baldwin Republican Women also brought home the National Caring for America Award for medium-size clubs. Their adoption of the Baldwin County Sheriff Boys Ranch—serving 21 foster children in Summerdale, Alabama—has provided donations of cash, household items, books, food at Thanksgiving, and gift cards for Christmas. Their generosity exemplifies the heart of Republican women in action.

“This award belongs to every woman in our club who gave of her time, energy, and resources to make life better for foster children,” said Sheila Rhiner-Green, President of South Baldwin Republican Women. “We don’t just talk about conservative values — we live them by serving those most in need in our community.”

Point Clear Republican Women won the national award for the greatest percentage increase in membership, a shining example of the growth momentum across Alabama.

“Our growth reflects a hunger for engagement, leadership, and real results,” said Jerry Ann McCarron, President of Point Clear Republican Women. “Women across Baldwin County are stepping up because they see the difference Republican women can make at the local, state, and national level.”

Eleven AFRW clubs also earned the elite Diamond Achievement Award, the highest level of recognition for club excellence: Eastern Shore RW, Houston County RW, Point Clear RW, Republican Women of Coffee County, Republican Women of Huntsville, Republican Women of Madison, Republican Women of North Shelby County, Republican Women of the South, Republican Women of Trussville, and South Baldwin RW.

“These awards reflect the energy, leadership, and compassion of Republican women across our state,” said Tiffany Noel of Huntsville, President of AFRW. “We are growing faster, serving stronger, and showing the nation what Alabama leadership looks like. We truly aren’t tired of winning — because every victory helps us make a difference in our communities and for our country.”

With over 2,000 members in 42 clubs statewide, AFRW is the leading auxiliary group in the Alabama Republican Party. As we continue to grow, we have stayed true to our mission: to promote conservative values and elect qualified Republican candidates. Guided by our motto, W5–When Women Work, We Win—Alabama women are leading the way for conservative victories at every level.
