Montgomery, AL - The Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama (P&CMA), a nonprofit trade association representing convenience retailers across the state, strongly supports the efforts of the Alabama Legislature, designed to remove all state sales tax on groceries, which was announced today in Huntsville, AL.

"In many rural areas of the state, convenience stores are the closest retailer of grocery items," said Neal Morrison, Director of Governmental Affairs for P&CMA. "We applaud the legislative leadership for continuing to push this plan which will bring measurable and much needed relief to families all across Alabama and we look forward to working with all members of the Alabama House and Senate to get this bill across the finish line in 2027."

With a broad membership base, including large chain retailers and individual single store owner/operators, P&CMA plays a vital role in Alabama's economy. For more information about the Petroleum & Convenience Marketers of Alabama, visit www.pcmala.org.
