ALCAP Launches Statewide "Pray. Prepare. Vote." Campaign Ahead of Nov. 3 Election
Free bulletins head to Alabama churches as absentee voting gets underway and the Oct. 19 registration deadline approaches

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — The Alabama Citizens Action Program has launched a statewide nonpartisan campaign urging Alabamians to vote in the Nov. 3 general election, anchored by the ALCAP 2026 Voter Bulletin, a free double-sided insert now available to any church in the state.
The campaign, titled "Pray. Prepare. Vote.," responds to a persistent gap between church attendance and voter turnout. National figures from recent elections indicate roughly half of self-identified Christians do not cast a ballot in a given election.
"It is important for Bible-believing Christian people to vote their values,"said Greg Davis, president of ALCAP. "Your vote does matter, and collectively our vote makes the difference. Between now and November 3rd, please pray, prepare and vote."
The bulletin presents four reasons ALCAP describes as grounds for Christian civic participation, spiritual, civic, prayerful and caring responsibility, each tied to Scripture. Its reverse side lists every office on the Nov. 3 ballot, from U.S. Senate through county school boards, along with the statewide constitutional amendments of note.
Two of those amendments concern public schools. Amendment 3 would require daily recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance in public K-12 schools and permit student-initiated, student-led prayer. Amendment 4 would require weekly broadcast of the first stanza of "The Star-Spangled Banner."
The materials name no candidate and no political party. ALCAP does not endorse candidates or parties.
"Half the people we are trying to reach are already in a pew on Sunday morning,"Davis said. "We did not need to find them. We needed to hand their pastor something to give them."
Absentee voting in Alabama opened Sept. 9. Alabama's voter registration deadline is Monday, Oct. 19, and absentee ballot applications are due Oct. 27 by mail and Oct. 29 in person. Polls are open 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Election Day, and voters must present valid photo identification.
