ALGOP Enacts Sweeping New Policies to Ensure Long-Term Fiscal Transparency
“We are committed to being fully transparent and accountable”—Chairman John Wahl

From the Alabama Republican Party, July 1, 2025
BIRMINGHAM, AL — The Alabama Republican Party has taken bold steps to strengthen financial transparency and accountability ahead of the 2026 election cycle, enacting a series of internal reforms designed to ensure long-term integrity and trust.
Under the leadership of Chairman John Wahl, the Party enters this critical election cycle in a position of strong financial health. Since Wahl’s election in 2021, the Party has experienced unprecedented financial growth, breaking multiple fundraising records in every area. That success will now be paired with Chairman Wahl’s new transparency policies aimed at open operations and responsible stewardship.
“We are proud of the strong financial position the Alabama GOP is in,” said Chairman Wahl. “But just as important as raising money is how we manage it—and we are committed to being fully transparent and accountable to our members, supporters, and voters.”
Among the most significant initiatives are: First, a full, independent audit currently underway—initiated by Chairman Wahl and conducted by Pearce, Bevill, Leesburg, Moore, P.C., one of Alabama’s most respected accounting firms. This third-party review will provide a comprehensive evaluation of ALGOP’s finances and internal controls.
Second, the launch of a new members portal that will provide detailed financial disclosures, showing every penny the Party has raised or spent over the past four years.
In addition to these items, Chairman Wahl has enacted a number of new financial procedures to ensure lasting oversight and transparency since taking office, including:
- Third-party financial management by Red Curve Solutions, a nationally recognized firm specializing in political finance and compliance. Red Curve was President Trump’s compliance firm in the 2024 election cycle.
- Under Chairman Wahl’s directive, every expenditure must be approved by the Party’s Financial Oversight Committee Chairman, providing an added layer of scrutiny on all expenditures.
- Routine financial reporting to the Party’s Financial Oversight Committee and the Party’s Steering Committee, including income statements, profit and loss summaries, and balance sheets—all reviewed by both internal officers and outside professionals.
As well as these checks and balances, the Party also gives full public transparency, with all contributions and expenditures disclosed through both state and federal filings in accordance with campaign finance laws.
“These policies are about more than just compliance,” Wahl added. “They’re about building confidence and creating an environment of trust. The Alabama Republican Party now has the strongest and most transparent financial policies in the country. As we prepare to win elections in 2026, we’re doing so with a foundation built on accountability, transparency, and conservative values.”
