Amy Minton Seeks Alabama Senate District 10 Seat

Amy Minton has announced that she is running for the Alabama Senate in District 10, which serves Etowah, Cherokee and Dekalb Counties in northeastern Alabama. She will face incumbent Andrew Jones in the May 19th Republican primary.

Minton is the previous Secretary and now Vice Chair of the Etowah County Republican Party and serves on the Executive Committee of the Alabama Republican Party. She is a member of the Etowah County Library Board, and was appointed by Governor Kay Ivey to serve on the Board of the Alabama Public Library Service in February, 2024.

Minton’s priorities in the Senate will include supporting small business, farmers, private property owners and citizens against government overreach, opposing gambling, supporting 2nd Amendment rights and improving education, including trade schools, across the State.

As the wife of a Marine, Minton strongly supports Veterans issues, especially Veterans mental health issues. She also supports faith-based addiction recovery groups.

Minton has been married to Dr. Maury Minton for 35 years, and the couple have two children. She is a retired pharmaceutical sales agent, and attends Meadowbrook Church in Gadsden. She lives in Rainbow City.
