The Alabama Trucking Association’s political arm, TRUK PAC, has officially endorsed Republican Derek Chen in his bid for Alabama State Auditor.

In announcing the endorsement, TRUK PAC Chairman Greg Brown praised Chen’s mix of experience and dedication to public service. “Derek Chen’s background, integrity, detail orientation, and commitment to responsibility through public service make him uniquely qualified for the Alabama State Auditor race,” Brown said. “He is extremely mission-focused in providing transparency and stewardship for the citizens of our great state.”

TRUK PAC supports candidates who understand the importance of a strong transportation network, sound financial policy and regulatory policies that help keep Alabama’s trucking industry safe and competitive.

Chen said he is ready to work with the trucking sector and others across Alabama. “Trucking keeps Alabama’s economy moving, and I am ready to get to work helping the industry move forward,” he said. “I am grateful to have the support and endorsement of ATA, and I look forward to partnering with them on issues affecting Alabama trucking.”

Chen emphasized that a strong trucking industry relies on reliable infrastructure, careful use of taxpayer dollars and a transparent, efficient state government. “As State Auditor, my focus is on accountability and efficiency. When government works the way it should, industries like trucking are able to do what they do best: keep Alabama working,” Chen added.

The endorsement from the Alabama Trucking Association comes as part of a growing list of statewide groups backing Chen’s campaign. He has officially qualified for the Republican nomination and spent much of the past nine months meeting voters in all 67 counties, underscoring his message of accountability and transparency in state government. Chen’s campaign has drawn support from influential organizations including the Alabama Farmers Federation’s Alabama FarmPAC and the Electric Cooperatives of Alabama PAC, both of which praised his focus on efficiency, rural communities and strong stewardship of public funds. These endorsements, along with backing from other industry and business groups, signal broad appeal among rural and business-focused voters as Chen works to build momentum ahead of the May 19 Republican primary.
