Barry Moore Backs FY26 Spending Bill to Boost Security
Rep. Moore supported House passage of H.R. 7006, a bipartisan FY26 funding package aimed at protecting taxpayers, strengthening security, backing key agencies
U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R- AL-1) joined a strong majority of the House in voting for H.R. 7006, the Financial Services and General Government and National Security, Department of State, and Related Programs Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2026. The bill passed the House by a vote of 341-79.
“Today, I proudly voted in favor of H.R. 7006, a bipartisan appropriations package that responsibly funds essential government functions for Fiscal Year 2026 and demonstrates House Republicans' commitment to serve the American people," said Congressman Moore. "This bill ensures key federal departments and agencies have the resources they need to operate effectively and safeguard our financial systems, strengthen national security, and support critical government operations and international programs."
The measure covers two of the 12 regular spending bills for FY2026. It provides budget authority for agencies including the Treasury, State Department, judiciary, and others that manage financial services and national security efforts.
Supporters say the bill drives economic growth, protects taxpayers and addresses emerging threats. It includes provisions to limit IRS enforcement funding and shift resources toward customer service, enhances cybersecurity defenses, and steps up efforts to stop illegal drugs like fentanyl from entering the country.
Moore also highlighted language in the bill aimed at reaffirming core rights and maintaining critical policy riders. The legislation prohibits IRS actions against individuals for exercising First Amendment rights and retains longstanding pro-life protections and other judicial support measures, according to the congressman’s statement.
The package now moves to the Senate for further consideration.
