Barry Moore Opens 2026 Art Competition
High school students in Alabama’s First District may submit artwork through March 24 for a chance to display it in the U.S. Capitol
Congressman Barry Moore (R-AL-01) has announced the opening of the 2026 Congressional Art Competition for high school students in Alabama’s First Congressional District.
Students may begin submitting artwork and registration forms on February 19, 2026. Entries must be delivered to one of Moore’s district offices in Dothan, Andalusia, Foley, Bay Minette, or Mobile. The deadline to submit artwork is March 24, 2026.
The Congressional Art Competition was established in 1982 as a bipartisan effort to recognize and encourage young artists from across the nation. The program is sponsored each year by members of the United States House of Representatives in partnership with the Congressional Institute.
One winner from each congressional district is selected. The winning artwork is displayed for 11 months in the United States Capitol, where it is viewed by members of Congress, staff, and visitors from around the world. With millions passing through the Capitol each year, the exhibit remains one of the most widely seen student art displays in the country.
