Birmingham, AL – Barry Moore is under fire regarding his military record. Moore continues to misdirect and lie to Alabama voters.

Fact: So far, Moore has not released his DD214. Former Navy SEAL Jared Hudson has.

Fact: Moore has threatened to sue news outlets that ask questions about his service record.

Fact: Moore cannot and will not identify his duty station.

Fact: Barry Moore joined the ROTC at Auburn University, determined he did NOT want to be active. He claims he was funded by the G.I. Bill, yet he served NO active duty time.

Fact: When questioned about his service, Moore produced a VA Choice ID card that anyone who served at any level can get. It is NOT an actual Veteran ID Card (VIC) one would use to access veterans’ benefits.

Fact: Moore never received a Military Occupational Specialty (MOS).

Fact: Moore said he was in the U.S. Army Reserves. He was actually in the Individual Ready Reserve (IRR), which does not drill.

Fact: Moore said he laced up his ‘combat boots’ but was never deployed — he thinks his phrasing is too clever for Alabama voters to learn the truth.

Fact: After Moore got called out for inflating his military resume, he pulled down all his ads with the word “veteran.”

The Bottom Line: Barry Moore misrepresented his service record, got caught, and is now trying to cover it up. He’s wrong, he knows it, and he is hiding behind D.C. lawyers to cover it up. Barry Moore took taxpayer money for ROTC and never served a day of active duty.
