House Republicans are intensifying scrutiny of President Joe Biden’s medical history, with former White House physician Dr. Kevin O’Connor at the center of new allegations, according to the New York Post. Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX), a physician and former White House doctor, accused O’Connor of concealing President Biden’s cognitive decline during his time in office.

“Dr. Kevin O’Connor will absolutely, positively be implicated in the cover-up of this. He is a massive, massive part,” Jackson told the New York Post in an interview published Friday. Jackson currently chairs the House Intelligence Committee’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations.

“I guarantee you Kevin O’Connor has medical information that the American people don’t have,” Jackson said. “He was probably putting President Biden on lots of medications that we have no clue of — in efforts to try to treat his cognitive decline.”

Jackson, who served in the White House Medical Unit under three presidents, claims O’Connor’s close ties to the Biden family compromised his professional judgment. “I’ve known him for a long time; he’s part of the Biden family. He would do or say anything to cover up and protect that family, regardless of what it meant professionally for him,” he added. “This could not have been covered up without him — and Jill Biden — in particular.”

Although the House Oversight Committee requested O’Connor appear for voluntary questioning in 2024, it remains unclear whether he ever responded. His only public statement on the matter came in July 2024, when he told the Post that Biden’s mental fitness was “excellent,” just days after the president withdrew from the 2024 race.

House Republicans are now weighing whether a broader investigation into the president’s health and decision-making during his term could reveal what Jackson called a “shadow presidency.”

Throughout Biden’s presidency, questions swirled over whether he should undergo formal cognitive testing. The White House, citing O’Connor, insisted there was no medical need. However, public incidents — including Biden mixing up names of deceased world leaders — and Special Counsel Robert Hur’s controversial decision not to prosecute the president due to his “poor memory.”

Neurologist Dr. Tom Pitts added to the criticism after the first 2024 presidential debate, telling NBC News, “I could’ve diagnosed him from across the Mall,” citing Biden’s “rigidity,” “shuffling gait,” and “slow movement” as possible signs of Parkinson’s disease.

Visitor logs show that Dr. Kevin Cannard, a Parkinson’s specialist at Walter Reed Medical Center, visited the White House eight times between July 2023 and March 2024. While O’Connor claimed only three of those visits involved the president, lawmakers are seeking further clarity on the nature of those meetings.

Another area of focus for Republican investigators is the use of autopen signatures on several end-of-term presidential pardons — including controversial clemency grants for Dr. Anthony Fauci, members of the January 6th Committee, and Biden’s own family members.

The conservative Heritage Foundation flagged the signatures, suggesting some pardons may not have been personally reviewed by the president. Others, including the Wall Street Journal, Daily Mail and the O’Keefe Media Group have made reports raising the possibility that aides may have made those decisions independently — though others have denied those claims.

One of the clemency recipients was James Biden, the president’s brother, who had faced scrutiny over business ties to a hospital chain under federal investigation. Dr. O’Connor was reportedly involved in related discussions but has not commented on the matter.

Jackson questioned the legitimacy of presidential actions signed in Biden’s final weeks in office. “Any of the things that he signed or put into law, are they legitimate?” he asked. “Was he even aware of what was going on, much less actually, you know, in favor of the stuff he signed?”

Even members of the Democratic Party reportedly had internal doubts about Biden’s fitness during his final year in office. According to The New York Times and Politico top aides prepared for contingencies in the event of a health crisis and expressed deep concern about his performance in debates and private meetings.

Ron Klain, Biden’s former chief of staff, reportedly referred to the June 27 debate as a “disaster.” Following the debate, First Lady Jill Biden drew criticism after telling her husband, “Joe, you did such a great job. You answered every question! You knew all the facts!”

The House GOP’s next steps remain uncertain, as no official hearings have been scheduled. However, Jackson insisted the investigation is moving forward. “I was saying that this man was not fit to be president when he was candidate Joe Biden in 2020 — and I said that over and over,” he said.
