Bill Morris Enters Race for Alabama House District 50
Campaign will focus on supporting law enforcement, investing in workforce development and strengthening education

Bill Morris has formally declared his run for Alabama’s House District 50. A former Mayor and current public official, Morris vows to focus on proven leadership and local roots.
Morris grew up in St. Clair County. He served as Mayor of Moody from August 1992 to August 2003, guiding the city through a stretch of steady growth and key infrastructure upgrades. Since 2003, he has been the general manager at Leeds Water Works, where he oversees day-to-day operations. He also serves on the St. Clair County Board of Education, pushing for stronger schools and better outcomes for students.
Recently, Lieutenant Governor Will Ainsworth appointed Morris to the newly formed Central Alabama Water Board—a body meant to guide regional water management.
Morris said, “I’ve spent my life working to make our communities better, safer, and more prosperous.” He added, “Now, I want to take that experience and dedication to Montgomery to serve the people of District 50 and help improve the lives of families across St. Clair County.”
Morris’ campaign will focus on three key priorities: supporting law enforcement, investing in workforce development and strengthening education.
“If elected,” Morris said, “I will fight to ensure our schools have the resources they need, expand job training and career opportunities for our workforce, and always stand behind the men and women who protect and serve our communities.”
House District 50 covers much of St. Clair County, a region known for its fast growth. With a practical style and deep local ties, Morris hopes to bring a steady, experienced voice to the legislature.
He also holds several current party and civic roles: he’s on the Republican Executive Committee for St. Clair County, sits on the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Foundation (appointed by Sheriff Billy Murray), and served as the County Coordinator for Governor Kay Ivey’s 2018 campaign.
