Blount County Woman Sentenced After Guilty Plea in 4-Year-Old Trafficking Case
“This is a heartbreaking case… But today, justice has been served”—DA Pamela Casey

A Cropwell woman has been ordered to prison after admitting guilt to a series of charges tied to the trafficking of a 4-year-old girl, according to a statement provided to ALPolitics.com by the Blount County District Attorney’s Office.
Amy Floyd Morgan, 43, pleaded guilty this week to first-degree human trafficking, facilitating the travel of a child for an unlawful sexual act, and two counts of conspiracy to commit sexual abuse of a child under 12.
Morgan received the following sentences:
- 25 years for human trafficking and facilitating travel
- 20 years on each of the two conspiracy counts
In comments released by the Blount County District Attorney’s office, DA Pamela L. Casey outlined the case:
Morgan and Rama Raj “Sonny” Erramraju were arrested in 2017 and indicted together. Morgan was accused of transporting the 4-year-old to the Covered Bridge Inn in Oneonta for sexual contact with Erramraju.
Erramraju was convicted in April 2019 by a Blount County jury on charges including sexual abuse of a child under 12, facilitating travel of a child for an unlawful sex act, and human trafficking in the first degree. He was sentenced to 30 years.
During his trial, prosecutors presented testimony that Morgan arranged “sex-for-money” encounters with Erramraju. They say Erramraju paid Morgan more to facilitate sexual contact with the child. Witnesses also testified that a young boy in Morgan’s care was left in a car to watch other children while Morgan took the victim to Erramraju’s motel room. That boy said he saw Morgan and the child in bed with Erramraju and saw him hand money to Morgan when she brought the child to him. The children referred to Erramraju as “Mr. Sonny.”
Morgan’s case had been scheduled for trial beginning October 2025, but multiple delays occurred. Courts were shut during the COVID-19 pandemic, and additional delays stemmed from proceedings to assess Morgan’s mental competency.
Judge Andrew Hairston of the 9th Judicial Circuit was appointed to oversee the case in July 2023, following the retirement of Judge Steven King and because Judge Greg Reid had previously represented Erramraju.
In her official statement, District Attorney Casey said:
“This is a heartbreaking case. As a mother, the thought of a woman selling a child for sexual contact is beyond the realm of anything I could ever imagine. But today, justice has been served. Although I would have preferred this case be resolved years ago, the outcome shows that I will never stop fighting for the children of Blount County. Morgan and Erramraju have been held accountable for their horrific actions. Most importantly, the young girl is now thriving in a safe, loving home. The children in this case have already confronted ‘Mr. Sonny’ in court, and today’s resolution ensures they will not have to endure the trauma of another trial with this defendant.”
