Borders, Belief, and a Blueprint for Alabama’s Future
Angela McClure welcomes Senator Tuberville for a must-listen conversation.

On this week’s episode of “Angela’s Sweet Tea & Politics” on Spotify, I had the opportunity to sit down with Senator Tommy Tuberville for a wide-ranging and candid conversation about the future of Alabama and the future of our country. What stood out most wasn’t just his positions—it was the consistency of his message and the clarity of his conviction.

You heard it clearly today: if you don’t have borders, you don’t have a country. In a world that increasingly pushes globalism and blurred national identity, the Senator made a firm case that American citizenship is not something to be handed out casually. It is something to be earned—earned through a lawful process that respects the Constitution, honors the sacrifices of generations before us, and protects the values that built this nation. Whether you agree or disagree, there was no mistaking where he stands or why he believes it matters.

But this conversation wasn’t only about national issues. It was deeply rooted in Alabama.

Senator Tuberville made it clear that his decision to leave the U.S. Senate and run for governor is about coming home with experience—and with a plan. Not slogans. Not sound bites. A plan. He talked at length about growing manufacturing across our state, expanding workforce training, strengthening education from K-12 to skilled trades, and making Alabama more competitive with our neighboring states. He emphasized that economic growth isn’t accidental; it requires preparation, relationships, and leadership willing to do the work every single day.

What I found compelling was how often he returned to the idea of accountability—accountability in government spending, in education outcomes, in healthcare delivery, and in leadership itself. He spoke as someone who views governing much like coaching: you can’t win without a game plan, and you can’t succeed without the right people executing it. Senator Tuberville was clear that surrounding himself with the best of the best is not optional—it’s essential. He has built a team made up of some of the best talented, experienced people Alabama has to offer who understand our communities, our industries, and our values. These are people who aren’t interested in politics for politics’ sake, but who genuinely want to serve and strengthen the state they call home.

This election is about the future direction of Alabama. It’s about deciding what kind of state we want to leave to our children and grandchildren. I always encourage you to study the issues, know the records, and think critically before you cast your vote. Democracy only works when informed citizens participate.

In my humble opinion, serving nearly six years in the United States Senate has given Coach Tuberville the experience, relationships, and perspective needed to come home and serve the people of Alabama—especially the next generation, including his own granddaughter—as governor.
