BREAKING: Rep. Barry Moore Co-Sponsors Resolution to Censure Rep. Al Green
"Rep. Al Green's conduct during President Trump's address was disrespectful and worthy of a censure." - Rep. Barry Moore

WASHINGTON – U.S. Representative Barry Moore (R-AL) is co-sponsoring a resolution introduced by Rep. Troy Nehls (R-TX) to censure Rep. Al Green (D-TX) for what they call "disrespectful and disorderly conduct" during former President Donald Trump's recent address to Congress.
Green was forcibly removed from the House chamber after repeatedly interrupting Trump's speech, shouting, "You have no mandate!" as the former president began speaking. His outburst led to his immediate ejection by House security.
The resolution, backed by Moore and other House Republicans, condemns Green for “willfully disrupting an official proceeding” and argues that his actions “brought disrepute to the U.S. Congress.” Moore defended his support for the measure, stating, “There must be consequences for those who undermine the integrity of our institutions with public outbursts and blatant disrespect.”
In a post on X, Representative Moore wrote, "Rep. Al Green's conduct during President Trump's address was disrespectful and worthy of a censure. I am co-sponsoring Rep. Troy Nehl's resolution to hold him accountable!"
Green, however, remained defiant, saying he was willing to face any punishment for speaking out against Trump’s policies. “History will remember those who stood up in the face of injustice,” he said in a statement following his removal.
The resolution adds to rising tensions in Congress as partisan clashes continue to escalate. It remains to be seen whether House leadership will bring the measure to a vote.
