Hueytown, AL  Republican congressional candidate Case Dixon today threw down the gauntlet and demanded that six-term incumbent Gary Palmer stop hiding from a debate and face the voters of Alabama’s 6th District.

Gary Palmer looked the people of this district in the eye and promised he would serve five terms and go home,” Dixon said. “He broke that promise. Now he’s asking for another term and won’t even stand in front of voters to answer for it.

Dixon noted that he has previously called for a debate and is now escalating that challenge.

No more excuses,” Dixon said. “Let’s make it simple.

To eliminate any justification for avoiding a debate, Dixon is giving Palmer total control:

• You pick the moderator

• You pick the location

• You pick the date and time

• You set the format and topics

• You can even review the questions in advance

I’ll show up on your terms,” Dixon said. “No conditions. No excuses.

Dixon said the situation is clear.

If you won’t debate on your own terms, you shouldn’t be asking for another term,” Dixon said. “That’s intentional avoidance.

Dixon then addressed Palmer directly:

The voters are paying attention,” Dixon said. “Pick the time. Pick the place. Pick the rules. I’ll be there. I’ll come anywhere in Alabama’s 6th District. I’ll even come to Washington if that’s what it takes.

This is about accountability. The people deserve to hear from both of us before they make a decision. At this point, the only real question is why you won’t stand before voters.
