Cathi Bradford Signs Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge

In a strong affirmation of her commitment to parental involvement and transparency in education, Cathi Bradford, candidate for the Alabama State Board of Education, District 6, has signed the Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge— a public commitment to uphold the fundamental rights of parents in directing their children’s upbringing and education. 

The pledge, promoted by Moms for Liberty, underscores the belief that parents — not bureaucrats or unelected officials — should have the primary voice in decisions that affect their children’s academic, medical, and moral development. 

Cathi Bradford, a veteran educator with more than 26 years of classroom experience and a U.S. Air Force veteran, emphasized the importance of this commitment in her campaign: “When we honor the principle of training up a child in the way he should go, we respect that parents are the first teachers — and I’ll work to ensure families have real transparency, a real voice, and a real seat at the table.”

Bradford’s pledge comes as part of a broader state-level movement among candidates and elected officials who have publicly pledged to protect parental rights. In Alabama, a growing number of leaders have signed the pledge as a demonstration of their support for family-centered governance and accountability in schools. 

Emily Jones, Chapter Chair of Moms for Liberty – Madison County, praised Bradford’s decision: “Parental rights aren’t a partisan issue — they’re a foundational American principle. I’m encouraged to see more candidates publicly affirm that parents are the primary decision-makers in their children’s education. Transparency, accountability, and respect for families should never be controversial.”

Jones has been a vocal advocate for parental involvement and serves as a leader in the Moms for Liberty national network, working to empower families and amplify their voices in local and state education policy discussions. 

The Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge has been signed by numerous candidates across Alabama, signaling a shared commitment to defending parental authority in public education decisions.
