Christian Coalition of Alabama Recommends Jay Mitchell for Attorney General
A Recommendation in the June 16 Republican Primary Runoff
From the Christian Coalition of Alabama
MONTGOMERY, Ala. — June 14, 2026 — With the June 16 Republican primary runoff days away, the Christian Coalition of Alabama (CCA) today announced its recommendation of Jay Mitchell for Attorney General.
Mitchell, a former Associate Justice of the Alabama Supreme Court who served from 2019 until 2025, brings a proven record of conservative judicial leadership and a clear commitment to the values Alabama families hold dear. CCA pointed to his defense of the sanctity of life, his commitment to protecting Alabama's children, and his willingness to engage directly and candidly with people of faith across the state.
As a Justice, Mitchell authored the landmark opinion affirming that unborn children are protected under Alabama's Wrongful Death of a Minor Act — a decision CCA praised as a courageous defense of the sanctity of human life.
CCA also highlighted Mitchell's pledge to stand with Alabama families against online predators and those who would exploit children, and his commitment to enforcing the law without fear or favor as Alabama's next chief law enforcement officer.
“Jay Mitchell has shown the character, conviction, and courage Alabama needs in its Attorney General. He has defended the sanctity of life from the bench, and he has been candid and forthright with us at every turn. He is exactly the kind of principled leader Alabama families can trust.”
— Dr. Randy Brinson, President, Christian Coalition of Alabama
For these reasons, the Christian Coalition of Alabama recommends that voters select Jay Mitchell as the Republican nominee for Attorney General on June 16, 2026.
