Longtime Cullman County resident and businesswoman Cindy Myrex has announced her intent to run in the upcoming special election for Alabama House of Representatives, District 12.
"A lifetime in Cullman County and on Smith Lake, I never cease to be thankful for the part of the world God allowed me to be in," Myrex said. "Living in this community, filled with generations of genuine, nurturing, and God-fearing families, I am always glad to call Cullman County, Cold Springs, and Smith Lake my home."
Myrex, a successful realtor specializing in Smith Lake and Cullman County, has been deeply involved in her community for decades. She and her husband, Ricky, are active members of Temple Baptist Church. Before launching her real estate career, she dedicated 18 years as a stay-at-home wife and mother.
"My focus is simple—faith, family, and freedom," Myrex emphasized. "I believe in protecting the rights of hardworking Alabamians and ensuring our values are represented in Montgomery. I will advocate for policies that strengthen our communities and preserve our way of life."
In addition to her business and community involvement, Myrex has been a committed conservative activist. She recently served as a Trump Alternate Delegate at the 2024 Republican National Convention, participated in the Alabama Strike Force’s grassroots efforts in Georgia, and was elected to the State Executive Committee for Cullman County.
The special election follows Representative Cory Harbison’s decision to resign.
