Cullman County, Alabama - Cindy Myrex has won the Special Republican Runoff Election for Alabama House District 12, defeating Clint Hollingsworth with approximately 58% of the vote, according to unofficial results from the Alabama Secretary of State’s office.

Her victory comes less than a month after the July primary, where she received 49.81% of the vote—just nine votes short of avoiding a runoff.

“This campaign has always been about listening to the people of Cullman County,” Myrex said. “As your State Representative, I will hear your concerns, make the right decisions for our district, and lead with compassion, integrity, and a commitment to our conservative values.”

House District 12 is a Republican stronghold, with President Donald J. Trump winning nearly 90% of the vote in Cullman County in 2020. The seat became vacant earlier this year when former Representative Corey Harbison resigned to spend more time with his family.

With her decisive win in the runoff, Myrex is virtually guaranteed to become HD12’s next State Representative. The special general election will take place on October 28, 2025.
