Republican candidate Clint Hollingsworth has officially qualified to run in the Special Republican Primary Election for Alabama House District 12. He filed the necessary paperwork Monday at the Alabama Republican Party (ALGOP) headquarters in Birmingham. The primary election is set for July 15, 2025.

Hollingsworth, a Cullman County native, brings with him a background in local government and small business. He says his campaign will focus on conservative values and representing the interests of the people in his district.

“I am proud to be running as a Republican candidate for House District 12,” Hollingsworth said. “I will work hard for the residents of Cullman County and fight so that they have a seat at the table in Montgomery. I will bring a conservative voice to the State House, a proven record of leadership, and experience of a small business owner to ensure that the needs of this community and my constituents always come first.”

The House District 12 seat was vacated earlier this year, prompting the special election. Hollingsworth is among the first candidates to qualify in what is expected to be a competitive Republican primary.

Hollingsworth will face Cullman realtor Cindy Myrex in the July 15 primary.
