Dale County Sheriff Mason Bynum has endorsed Katherine Robertson in her bid for Alabama Attorney General, citing her years of work inside the State’s top law office and a steady record of helping law enforcement put violent offenders behind bars.

“A lot of politicians talk tough on crime. Katherine Robertson actually backs it up,” Bynum said in a statement shared by the Robertson campaign. “I’ve seen her in the Attorney General’s Office fighting side by side with law enforcement to take criminals off our streets. She doesn’t bend, she doesn’t back down, and she doesn’t play politics when it comes to public safety. As attorney general, she’ll make sure violent offenders are locked up and stay locked up. That’s why I’m proud to stand with Katherine Robertson and why I’m asking you to join me in voting for her for Alabama Attorney General.”

Robertson, the longtime Chief Counsel in the Alabama Attorney General’s Office, said she was honored by the support.

“I am grateful for Sheriff Bynum’s support in this race,” Robertson said. “He and his department in Dale County are a model of what public safety should look like in Alabama. I’m honored by his trust, his support, and by his endorsement, and I look forward to the continued partnership in the years to come to keep families in our state safe.”

The Republican primary for Attorney General is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
