Danielle Duggar Enters Race for Alabama’s District 96 Seat
Says her platform is based on faith, family and freedom—not politics

Longtime Baldwin County resident Danielle Duggar has officially launched her campaign for the Alabama House of Representatives in District 96. A conservative Republican, Duggar and her husband, Wesley, have spent nearly two decades raising their children in Baldwin County. She says her campaign springs from their shared values of faith, family, and freedom—not traditional politics.
“After much preparation and a lot of prayer, I am excited to announce that I am running for the Alabama House of Representatives,” Duggar said in her campaign announcement. “I’m not a politician; I’m a wife and mother who wants Alabama to be a better place for the next generation.”
Duggar’s platform includes fiscal responsibility—cutting wasteful spending and lowering taxes—a strong stance on education, defending parental rights, opposing "woke" school agendas, safeguarding Second Amendment freedoms, championing medical freedom, and limiting government overreach.
“You have my commitment that my principles and priorities will be clear, conservative, and consistent from day one,” she said. “It’s time to cut wasteful spending and lower taxes, so hard‑working families keep more of what they earn.”
Duggar also emphasized her dedication to parental authority in education: “I’ll always stand up for the children of hard‑working families—protecting them from woke agendas and ensuring that parents, not politicians, are in charge of their children’s education and values.”
“I look forward to spending the next several months meeting thousands of voters and listening to the issues that matter most to them,” Duggar added. “I’m ready to serve House District 96 with integrity, strength and unwavering conservative principles.”
District 96 covers Daphne, Spanish Fort, Stapleton, Blakeley, Bromley, Belforest, and Montrose. The seat is currently represented by Republican Matt Simpson from Daphne.
In the District 96 2022 Republican primary, Duggar received 44.6% of the vote to Simpson’s 55.4%. Simpson was unopposed in the general election and went on to win the seat with 97.7% of the vote.
