Doc Mancuso Launches TV Ad Defending Ballot Access in Alabama HD 7 Race
First-of-its-kind paid media effort takes challenge directly to voters in Alabama House District 7
From the Mancuso campaign
Angelo "Doc" Mancuso, Republican candidate for Alabama State House District 7, has released a new television advertisement addressing efforts by political insiders to remove him from the Republican primary ballot ahead of the May 19
election.
The challenge, reportedly backed by opponent Ernie Yarborough, argues that more than a decade ago Mancuso once ran as a Democrat. The complaint was filed by an individual who does not live in District 7. The Alabama Republican Executive Committee is expected to consider the matter this Sunday.
“I'm running because I believe in accountability, freedom, and letting the people — not political insiders — decide who represents them," Mancuso said. "I meet every legal requirement to run as a Republican, and voters deserve the right to choose their nominee at the ballot box."
Mancuso noted that leaders such as President Ronald Reagan, President Donald Trump, and Governor Kay Ivey were once Democrats before becoming Republicans, adding, "What matters is where you stand now. I stand firmly for conservative values, limited government, and defending the Constitution."
If removed from the ballot, there would be no Republican primary in District 7.
The television ad is now airing districtwide and available on digital platforms.
