Guntersville, AL – Doug Jones is bringing his statewide town hall series to Marshall County on Saturday, August 22, the eighth stop on his tour across Alabama to hear directly from voters. Jones will be joined by Democratic nominee for Attorney General and Guntersville native Jeff McLaughlin. The town hall is open to Democrats, Republicans and everyone in between.

“How many times have you seen a statewide public official do a town hall in the last 20 years? It doesn’t happen,” said Jones. “Here’s the approach that we take to all of this, not just in the campaign, but when I become governor, we’re going to continue to do town halls. We’re going to continue to go out and talk to people, because that is the way that you learn. We want to hear from people.”

The Marshall County stop comes as the area continues to see new investment and job growth, bringing new opportunities along with questions about housing, infrastructure and the everyday cost of living. Throughout the campaign, Jones has focused on growing Alabama’s economy while making sure working families can afford to live in the communities helping drive that growth.

For McLaughlin, this is a hometown appearance. The Guntersville attorney and former state representative spent a decade representing Marshall County in the Alabama Legislature before returning to local public service, including serving as a municipal judge.

The town hall will be at the Marshall County Retired Senior Volunteer Program beginning at 2:00 p.m. CDT.
