Doug Jones: "Tuberville would know all about scams"

Birmingham, AL – Doug Jones released a new video today responding to a speech Tommy Tuberville gave on the Senate floor this week calling Social Security a “scam.” 

“Millions of people depend on Social Security,” Jones said. “Hundreds of thousands of people in Alabama depend on Social Security. They've never missed a paycheck. And this guy calls it a ‘scam.’ One would think Tuberville would know all about scams. He was involved in one.”

Jones is referring to the publicly documented investigation into the hedge fund where Tuberville served as managing partner, which centered on allegations that investors were defrauded. Tuberville later settled a civil lawsuit, and his former business partner went to prison.

“Don't take my word for it… just Google it,” Jones said.
