Eagle Forum of Alabama to Host Election Integrity and Policy Conference on Dec. 5

Eagle Forum of Alabama will bring Alabamians together for a one-day “Election Integrity & Policy Conference” on Friday, December 5, 2024.

The event invites parents, pastors, community leaders and other civic-minded citizens to gather at First Baptist Church Birmingham, 2209 Lakeshore Drive, Birmingham, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Registration is $50, which covers lunch and materials, and advance sign-up is required due to limited seating.

“This event is about preparation,” said Becky Gerritson, Executive Director of Eagle Forum of Alabama. “From election reforms to family-focused legislation, citizens will gain the understanding and confidence they need to take action before decisions are made in Montgomery.”

Highlights of the agenda include:

  • A presentation from Dr. Douglas G. Frank, an election-integrity researcher, on vulnerabilities in U.S. election systems, proven reforms and citizen-driven accountability steps.
  • Training in the Linda Rantz hand-count method, offering hands-on experience with transparent vote-counting.
  • A session by Les Bernal of Stop Predatory Gambling on the rapid-growth of online sports betting and its impact on Alabama families and youth, timed ahead of legislative consideration in 2026.

On the policy front, EFA will brief attendees on its legislative priorities for 2026, including: updating sex-education laws to ensure age-appropriate, science-based instruction; strengthening controls on THC and hemp-derived products; combatting online sports gambling and its social effects; and protecting life and conscience by restricting chemical abortion access.

With the legislative session set to begin January 13, 2026, and elections on the horizon, organisers say the time to act is now. “While the holidays are a busy time, taking one day now will equip you to stand up for Alabama’s future,” the organizers said.

Founded in 1975, Eagle Forum of Alabama is a Statewide grassroots organization dedicated to educating citizens and advancing conservative policy around faith, family and freedom.
