A prominent national conservative organization is weighing in on the Alabama State Board of Education race, as Eagle Forum PAC has endorsed candidate Emily Jones for the District 8 seat.

The district covers Limestone, Madison, Jackson, and DeKalb Counties, a region where education policy has become a leading issue among voters.

The endorsement from Eagle Forum PAC, a group known for its advocacy of parental rights and limited government, signals growing support for Jones among conservative voters in North Alabama. The organization pointed to her emphasis on strengthening core academics, including reading, writing, math, and science, while also expanding access to practical skills such as financial literacy, home economics, and career training.

In a statement announcing the endorsement, Kris Ullman highlighted Jones’ background as a parent.

“Emily Jones brings an important perspective to the Board of Education — that of a mother,” Ullman said. “As she worked to better understand her son’s academic needs, she saw firsthand how important it is for parents to have clear access to curriculum and open communication with schools. That experience led her to run for the State School Board to ensure all parents are empowered in their children’s education.”

Jones has centered her campaign on parental involvement and transparency, arguing that families should have clear insight into classroom instruction and a stronger voice in shaping education policy.

Responding to the endorsement, Jones praised the group’s influence at both the state and national levels.

“I am incredibly grateful to Eagle Forum for their endorsement and for their unwavering commitment to protecting families and children across Alabama,” Jones said. “Their leadership in advancing commonsense legislation like the Vulnerable Child Compassion and Protection Act (VCAP) has played a critical role in protecting minors and reinforcing the role of parents in these deeply important decisions. I’m honored to have their support as we work to bring accountability, transparency, and a renewed focus on academic excellence back to our schools.”

Eagle Forum PAC also pointed to Jones’ support for promoting values such as honesty, respect, and responsibility in schools, while opposing the inclusion of content it views as conflicting with family beliefs.

The District 8 race is expected to draw increased attention as debates continue over curriculum transparency, parental rights, and the role of public schools in addressing social issues.

With the endorsement, Jones’ campaign continues to build support among voters seeking a more traditional approach to education policy.
