The Alabama Forestry Association has endorsed Rick Rehm (R-Dothan) for reelection to the Alabama House of Representatives in District 85, adding another industry endorsement as the 2026 election cycle begins to take shape.

Rehm, a Republican who represents parts of Houston and Henry Counties, was first elected to the legislature in 2022 and is seeking a second term.

“I’m truly honored to receive the endorsement of the Alabama Forestry Association,” said Rehm. “Forestry plays a vital role in Alabama’s economy, workforce, and stewardship of our natural resources. I appreciate the trust and confidence the Association has placed in me, and I look forward to continuing to work alongside Alabama’s foresters and landowners to support responsible land management, job creation, and a strong rural economy.”

Rehm is originally from Chicago but has spent most of his adult life in Alabama. After serving four years in the United States Army, he took a civilian position at Fort Rucker near Enterprise. There, he worked as a frontline controller for 25 years and later served as facility manager from 2014 to 2018.

Following his retirement, Rehm entered public service. He served on the Dothan City Council before becoming an Executive Committee member of the Alabama Republican Party and later running for the state legislature.

Leaders with the forestry association said Rehm has shown a willingness to work with landowners and forest industry leaders on issues affecting the state’s timber economy.

“Rick Rehm understands the importance of forestry to Alabama’s future and has always been willing to listen and act on behalf of our landowners, loggers, and forest products companies,” said AFA President and CEO Chris Isaacson. “That’s why the Alabama Forestry Association is proud to support his continued leadership.”

Alabama’s primary election is scheduled for May 19, 2026.
