This week, Tommy Tuberville stood on the floor of the United States Senate — six weeks before Alabama voters decide whether to make him Governor — next to a poster reading "TRANSGENDERISM IS A MENTAL DISEASE," and delivered a nearly 20-minute speech claiming that "many" airline pilots, flight attendants, and air traffic controllers are secretly furries.

 He offered no evidence. Because there isn't any. 

 But that wasn't even the worst part of the speech. Tuberville also called for locking up doctors who provide gender-affirming care for life. He said the country should "bring back mental institutions as a normal part of our society." He suggested transgender people are responsible for a "rise in violence". And he made clear he thinks people who are transgender deserve to be institutionalized rather than treated with basic human dignity.

 This is who wants to run Alabama. 

Here's what we want you to notice: Tommy Tuberville didn't spend that floor speech talking about Alabama's affordability crisis. He didn't talk about the farmers who can't afford fertilizer. He didn't talk about rural hospitals closing across the Black Belt. He didn't talk about small businesses drowning in labor costs, or the war that's spiked your gas prices, or the fact that he can't even prove which state he lives in.

 He talked about furries.

 This is what MAGA does when their actual record is indefensible. They can't run on the economy — Trump's economy is failing working families across this state. So instead, they manufacture a boogeyman. They scapegoat a vulnerable minority. They stand next to hateful props and spin wild, unproven conspiracy theories.

 Tommy Tuberville is not a serious person, and he is not offering serious solutions to Alabama's real problems. 

Tommy Tuberville is a small, hateful man. Let’s defeat him at the ballot box.
