GOP Challenger Case Dixon Demands Congressman Gary Palmer Back Epstein Files Transparency Act
“This is not a partisan issue — it is a moral one”—Case Dixon

Case Dixon, Republican candidate for Congress in Alabama’s 6th District, is urging incumbent Representative Gary Palmer (R-AL6) to join the bipartisan drive to unseal all government-held files on Jeffrey Epstein. The effort is spearheaded by Reps. Thomas Massie (R-KY) and Ro Khanna (D-CA), and the petition needs just two more GOP signatures to force a House vote.
“This is not a partisan issue — it is a moral one,” Dixon said in a statement released Wednesday. “The victims of Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse have been denied justice for far too long. Every day Congress delays, powerful predators remain protected and survivors are denied closure. Money, power, and influence must never shield anyone from the full force of the law. No member of Congress should be complicit in a cover-up.”
Dixon’s words echo the growing pressure on Capitol Hill and significant sentiment from President Trump’s MAGA base.
Dixon recalled watching Massie and Khanna’s press conference, where survivors spoke openly about trauma and the need for answers. “Hearing directly from these victims made it painfully clear: Congress cannot keep hiding behind politics and excuses. These survivors deserve the truth, and they deserve closure. The time for action is now.”
The Epstein Files Transparency Act would require the Justice Department, including the FBI and U.S. attorneys’ offices, to release all unclassified records—everything from travel logs to plea deals involving Epstein or his associates. Survivors and lawmakers alike are demanding this full unsealing in the face of incomplete record releases.
Dixon criticized failure to join the effort as turning away from victims. “As the father of two young daughters, I find it shameful that members of my own party are looking the other way because they're worried about backlash from powerful people or the GOP establishment,” he said. “If I were the representative for Alabama’s 6th District, I would sign this petition without hesitation. Congressman Palmer must forget the politics, forget the optics, and do the right thing. Justice is more important than protecting the powerful.”
While Dixon said he supports President Trump’s policies when they align with his own, he faulted the President’s response to the Epstein revelations. “On this issue, the President is wrong. Calling the Epstein revelations a hoax dishonors victims and minimizes real crimes. Republicans should be the voice of reason here, not the roadblock.”
He ended with a direct appeal: “Justice delayed is justice denied. Congressman Palmer must decide — will he stand with the victims, or will he stand with the powerful?”
The Massie-Khanna petition now has support from four Republicans—Massie, Nancy Mace (R-SC, who left a meeting Wednesday with survivors in tears), Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA), and Lauren Boebert (R-CO)—and all Democrats. Only two more Republican signatures are needed to force a vote on the legislation.
Speaker Mike Johnson has dismissed the petition as unnecessary, pointing instead to ongoing investigations by the House Oversight Committee. Critics argue those releases are heavily redacted and incomplete.
Beyond lawmakers, survivors and advocacy groups are taking action—including a proposed survivor-led release of Epstein’s associates list—highlighting frustration that only a sliver of relevant material has been made public.
