The Gulf United Metro Business Organization also known as GUMBO announced their endorsement of Wes Allen in his bid to become Alabama’s next Lt. Governor.

“As Baldwin County continues to rank among Alabama’s fastest-growing regions, GUMBO believes thoughtful leadership and long-term planning will be essential to protecting quality of life, supporting local businesses, and preserving the character and economic vitality of Coastal Alabama. Through his service in the Alabama Legislature and as Secretary of State, Wes has championed pro-business policies, supported infrastructure improvements across Alabama, and remained a strong advocate for Alabama’s coastal communities and beaches,” Jim Bibby, GUMBO Chairman, said. “GUMBO is proud to endorse Wes Allen for Lieutenant Governor and looks forward to his continued leadership on behalf of Alabama’s communities and economic future.”

Wes Allen expressed his appreciation for the endorsement.

“I am honored to have earned this endorsement. In order for our economy to thrive, small business owners must be able to work without government overreach and unnecessary regulations,” Allen said. “The coast of Alabama is an economic engine for our state as a whole and protecting the stability of this robust region so that it can continue to grow while maintaining its unique character is an absolute must.”

The Gulf United Metro Business Organization (GUMBO) is a coalition of community leaders dedicated to enhancing the growth, sustainability, and economic opportunity of South Baldwin County. As the leading business advocacy voice for South Baldwin County, GUMBO has delivered major wins that extend far beyond the Gulf Coast. From securing the Sweet Home Alabama Tourism Tax Incentive in the Jobs Act, to advancing the Workforce Housing Tax Credit, to driving progress on transformative infrastructure projects such as the I-10 bridge and Baldwin Beach Express extension, GUMBO has positioned coastal Alabama as a growth engine that fuels prosperity statewide.

The Republican runoff election for Lt. Governor will take place on June 16.
