Gunn prepares to face Moore in Birmingham City Council Place 4 Runoff
Birmingham Runoff will be October 7

Brian Gunn is preparing to face J.T. Moore in a runoff for Birmingham City Council Place 4.
In Tuesday’s municipal primary election, Gunn received 41.03% of the vote to Moore’s 31.84% (99% reporting, WTVM13 ). Joseph Holt received 21.65% and Darryl Williams received 5.48% of the votes cast.
Gunn is now preparing for a runoff against incumbent Moore, and gave this statement to ALPolitics.com:
"Tonight's results make one thing clear: the people of District 4 are ready for change," said Gunn. "Nearly 70% of voters cast their ballots for new leadership, and I am honored to be moving forward as the frontrunner. Our community is demanding safer streets, stronger neighborhoods, and leadership that will always put residents first."
Gunn expressed gratitude to voters and pledged to continue building momentum in the weeks ahead.
"I'm excited to continue engaging with residents, listening to their concerns, and working side by side to shape a brighter future for our neighborhoods. But the real work begins now. This runoff is about all of us and it's going to take everyone pitching in to get across the finish line," Gunn said. "I'm calling on supporters and neighbors alike to join our campaign. Whether it's knocking on doors, making phone calls, or talking with friends, we need all hands on deck to win on October 7th."
Notably, the Birmingham runoff will be held on October 7 and not on September 23, when the runoffs in other municipal races will be held.
