Republican voters in Alabama’s House District 11 effectively chose their next State Representative on Tuesday, electing local businessman and farmer Heath Allbright in a hotly contested special primary election.

With nearly all precincts reporting, Allbright secured an estimated 54.76% of the vote, defeating retired U.S. Army Colonel Don Fallin, who finished with 45.24%. The victory avoids a runoff and solidifies Allbright as the Republican nominee — a near-guarantee of election in the heavily conservative district.

Allbright, a former school board member and longtime resident of Hanceville, leaned on his local roots and business background throughout the campaign. Despite Fallin’s strong performance in Cullman County, where he carried eleven of the district’s boxes, Allbright captured enough support in Blount County and held firm in other key areas to clinch the win.

“I am deeply honored by the trust voters in District 11 have placed in me,” Allbright said in a statement following his victory. “I’m ready to fight for our families, schools, and businesses, ensuring our community thrives while preserving the values that make Blount and Cullman Counties home.”

The campaign was marked by an increasingly negative tone in its final weeks, with both candidates trading barbs through mailers, social media, and third-party involvement. Voters appeared to favor Allbright’s message of steady leadership and community-first priorities.

The special election was called to fill the vacancy left by former State Representative Randall Shedd, who retired earlier this year. Allbright will now move on to the general election where, barring any unforeseen developments, he is expected to take office and represent District 11 in Montgomery.

House District 11 includes portions of Cullman, Blount, and Morgan counties.
