Henry County Sheriff Backs Robertson in Alabama Attorney General Contest
“She has and always will support our men and women in blue while holding us to a high standard”—Sheriff Eric Blankenship

Henry County Sheriff Eric Blankenship has formally endorsed Katherine Robertson in her bid for Alabama Attorney General, adding a key law enforcement voice to her growing base of support.
Blankenship cited Robertson’s hands-on leadership style and her commitment to law enforcement as decisive factors in his backing. “I strongly believe a leader must lead from the front and be active in their role,” he said. “Katherine Robertson has served the Attorney General’s Office with that same mindset. She has and always will support our men and women in blue while holding us to a high standard. I am proud to support Katherine Robertson to be Alabama’s next Attorney General.”
Robertson welcomed the endorsement, stressing her promise to stand firmly behind law enforcement if elected. “It is an honor to have Sheriff Blankenship’s support in this race. As the next Attorney General of Alabama, I’ll fight every single day to ensure law enforcement knows our office has their back as we work to keep criminals off our streets and families in Alabama feel safe,” she said. “I’m thankful to Sheriff Blankenship and the members of Henry County’s law enforcement community for their tireless dedication to public safety as they work to keep our state and the people of Henry County protected and safe!”
Blankenship’s endorsement is part of a broader trend in Robertson’s campaign: she has amassed backing from Sheriffs, Police Chiefs, and District Attorneys across Alabama. Her platform emphasizes aggressive prosecution of violent crime, bolstering coordination among rural agencies, and resisting policies she says undermine public safety.
Robertson brings strong institutional credentials to the race. Since 2017, she has served as chief counsel in the Attorney General’s Office, and earlier she worked as a senior advisor and in public policy roles. In announcing her candidacy earlier this year, she portrayed herself as a defender of conservative values and a staunch ally of law enforcement.
Her opponents include former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell and Blount County District Attorney Pamela Casey in the Republican primary on May 19, 2026.
