Guest Opinion by Pat Bishop, candidate for Lieutenant Governor of Alabama

For the last several months, several media outlets, money, and establishment, have told you who the winner of each election in Alabama is going to be. According to them, the clear front runners and winners are those who have thousands or millions of dollars in campaign contributions. According to the media (including some social media sites), they have already chosen your winner. According to the media, there is no reason to cast a vote. They even leave candidates off of the list of candidates if that particular candidate has not paid money.

Then there this lie called a “Poll / Straw Poll”. Have you ever noticed, you never get to participate in it?

Let me be clear, money is necessary for a candidate to be competitive, but it doesn’t ensure success!

Money matters in the most competitive races, open seat races that have no incumbent and those with high profile candidates. More money will be spent by the candidates in these races, but also by those who would like to influence the outcome.

One concern that is often expressed is that winners answer to their donors and those organizations who support them.

Since 2010, the role of outside money, or money from super PACs and political nonprofits, has raised alarms in the media and from other groups.

The Pat Bishop campaign for common sense, has not taken any dark money. We have not taken any money from Alabama Power, political action committees, or billionaires. Nobody owns me!

Please stop voting for politicians Alabama. Send a military man to Montgomery who has a spirit that is not afraid!

I have fought for this country, I have taken lives for this country, because I love this country! Our nation is not perfect, because we are not perfect people. But, day by day we have to look in the mirror and ask what we can do in order to form a more perfect union. I ask you to continue to work towards this goal by asking for the Bishop ballot on May 19th and send a warrior to fight against copy and paste politics!

Every morning for the last 3 years I listen to Cee Cee Winans, “Believe For It”. Let’s move the immovable, let’s break the unbreakable, on May 19th let’s see a miracle!

To God be the Glory!
