Hudson Stays in Alabama Senate Race, Calls for Unscripted Debates
Alabama Senate hopeful Jared Hudson vows to fight for voters, backs Trump agenda, and challenges rivals Steve Marshall and Barry Moore to open debates
Former U.S. Navy SEAL Jared Hudson is staying in the Republican U.S. Senate race and renewed his call for open debates with key rivals as the May 19 primary nears.
In a statement released Monday, Hudson said:
“I’m in this fight for the people of Alabama, and I’m not going anywhere. I ran toward the fight in Afghanistan as a Navy SEAL sniper, and I’ll keep that same oath to the Constitution by stopping the radical Left from destroying our country from within.”
“My mission in the U.S. Senate is straightforward: deport criminal illegal immigrants, lower the cost of living, put Alabama First, and stand with President Trump to Make America Great Again.”
“This race is about putting Alabama First. I’m the only candidate who can do that.”
Hudson also challenged Alabama Attorney General Steve Marshall and U.S. Congressman Barry Moore to a face-to-face debate, saying, “Let’s debate. No scripts. No handlers. No dodging.”
“I answer to the people of Alabama. That’s who this fight is for, and that’s who I’ll represent.” Hudson concluded.
Hudson issued the statement in response to President Trump’s endorsement of rival Barry Moore on Saturday evening. That endorsement continues to send shockwaves through a crowded, hotly-contested race for Alabama’s Republican Senate nomination.
Hudson has framed his campaign as a fight for everyday Alabamians, tying his bid to his military service and loyalty to conservative principles. “I ran toward the fight in Afghanistan as a Navy SEAL sniper, and I’ll keep that same oath to the Constitution by stopping the radical Left from destroying our country from within,” Hudson added.
Hudson described his policy priorities as, “My mission in the U.S. Senate is straightforward: deport criminal illegal immigrants, lower the cost of living, put Alabama First, and stand with President Trump to Make America Great Again.”
