Former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Jay Mitchell has maintained his position as the leading fundraiser in the race for Alabama Attorney General, securing his third consecutive month at the top of the field. In August, Mitchell's campaign reported raising $371,095, with 99.9% of the contributions coming from conservative donors within Alabama. This brings his total fundraising since launching his campaign in June to $2,038,023.01, leaving him with a substantial $1,946,359.78 in cash on hand.

Mitchell's campaign emphasizes the strong support from Alabama conservatives, highlighting the grassroots nature of his fundraising efforts. "These metrics are proof positive of my alignment with grassroots conservatives as well as the Alabama business community," Mitchell stated. "I'm humbled by the strength of my supporters and grateful for their demonstrated commitment to my campaign."

As the Republican primary approaches, Mitchell continues to position himself as a candidate who will address key issues such as violent crime, immigration, and advancing President Trump's agenda. He contrasts his in-state support with the influx of out-of-state contributions to his opponent, Katherine Robertson. "We continue to receive support from conservatives all over Alabama because they're not satisfied with the status quo," Mitchell remarked. "They know I'm the only candidate for Attorney General who will actually move the needle on the issues they care about."

With three consecutive months of strong fundraising and a base of support built almost entirely by Alabama conservatives, Mitchell enters the final stretch of the campaign with the resources and momentum needed to reach voters across the state. In commenting on his most recent numbers, Mitchell said, "I'm running a campaign that is powered by and for the people of Alabama. I wouldn't have it any other way."

Fundraising has become a major issue in the AG race, with Mitchell recently accusing rival Katherine Robertson of receiving “dark money” from Nashville PAC First Principles Action and another $150,000 from businessman Hugh Culverhouse Jr. In response, Robertson’s campaign struck back, saying “Jay knows his campaign is on life support. His liberal past is quickly catching up to him as Conservatives around Alabama learn of his lies, backroom dealings, and consistent record of anti-conservative liberal rulings” and that Robertson “could not be prouder of the support she has received from First Principles … as well as an impressive number of individual donors from across the state.”
