Republican candidate for Alabama Attorney General, Jay Mitchell, has signed the Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge, reinforcing his commitment to defend parental rights and uphold the constitutional protections afforded to Alabama families.

The Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge is a public commitment to honor the fundamental rights of parents to direct their children’s education, medical care, and moral upbringing. As a candidate for the state’s chief law enforcement office, Mitchell’s endorsement of the pledge carries particular significance, signaling how he would approach the legal defense of families if elected.

“Parental rights are not optional — they are foundational. As Alabama’s next Attorney General, it will be my sacred duty to enforce the constitutional rights of parents and ensure that the government follows the law, especially when it comes to protecting children and promoting families,” said Mitchell.

Mitchell, a former Alabama Supreme Court Justice and experienced attorney, has been outspoken in defense of girls’ sports, the protection of children’s privacy, and the enforcement of Alabama laws designed to safeguard families. As Attorney General, he would be responsible for defending state laws, advising state agencies, and ensuring compliance with constitutional standards — including those related to parental authority and child protection.

Emily Jones, Chapter Chair of Moms for Liberty – Madison County, welcomed Mitchell’s public commitment:

“It’s encouraging to see candidates for major statewide offices publicly affirm the importance of parental rights. The Attorney General plays a critical role in upholding constitutional protections, and we appreciate Jay Mitchell taking the time to sign the Parent Pledge and recognize the role parents should play in decisions affecting their children.”

The Moms for Liberty Parent Pledge continues to serve as a benchmark for candidates who believe that transparency, accountability, and family authority are essential to preserving both constitutional liberty and the well-being of Alabama’s children.
