John Wahl to Speak at Mobile Trump Rally

From the Wahl campaign

October 1

ATHENS, AL — Former Alabama Republican Party Chairman and current Republican nominee for lieutenant governor of Alabama, John Wahl, will be a speaker at the Mobile Trump Rally tomorrow, Friday, Oct. 2.

The rally will mark President Trump’s return to Mobile, where he held one of the signature rallies of his 2016 presidential campaign. Trump has made numerous visits to Alabama since launching his first presidential campaign in 2015. Two of those visits were hosted by Wahl, including the Trump Rally in Cullman, which was the largest political event in Alabama history, and the Alabama Republican Party’s 2023 Summer Dinner, which broke records as the party’s most successful fundraiser.

“I am looking forward to President Trump’s return to our state, and I am truly honored to have the opportunity to share the stage with him once again as Alabama’s Republican nominee for lieutenant governor,” Wahl said.

“President Trump was always willing to support the Alabama Republican Party during my time as chairman, and I am grateful for the strong working relationship we built over those years,” Wahl continued. “Donald Trump and the people of Alabama have a special relationship, and no one knows that better than I do as a Trump-endorsed candidate. I know Alabama will give him another tremendous welcome when he arrives in Mobile this week.”

Wahl said President Trump’s popularity in Alabama reflects what he sees as growing frustration with career politicians and the status quo.

“Alabama voters are tired of career politicians and business as usual. They are looking for bold, conservative leadership that will bring common sense back to government,” Wahl said. “That is the fight President Trump has brought to Washington, D.C., and it is the same kind of fight I believe we need here in Alabama.”

Trump endorsed Wahl for lieutenant governor in January, shortly before Wahl entered the race. Wahl went on to win the Republican nomination in June.

Wahl, who chaired the Alabama Republican Party from 2021 until January 2026, will join other Republican leaders and candidates speaking ahead of President Trump’s remarks Friday evening.

The rally will be held at the University of South Alabama’s Mitchell Center in Mobile. Doors are scheduled to open at 2 p.m., with the program beginning later that evening. The event is open to the public, with free tickets available through the event website.
