Jones, Figures to Host Fireside Chat August 6

Louise Jones, wife of Alabama Democratic gubernatorial nominee Doug Jones, and Dr. Kalisha Figures, wife of incumbent AL-02 Democratic congressman Shomari Figures, will be hosting a fireside chat in Mobile on Thursday, August 6, to discuss issues shaping women’s lives across the State.

The event will be held at the Fuse Factory, 200 Government St., Mobile, beginning at 5:00 PM.

This is the second stop for Jones on her Women for Alabama listening tour, following last week‘s initial talk in Auburn.

The pair are expected to discuss issues including affordability, healthcare, and access to maternal care.

"Every stop on this tour reminds me why Doug and I are in this race,” said Jones.  “We’re doing it for women, for working families, and for folks desperate for a change and who deserve to be heard."

"With our district redrawn and this election more important than ever, I wanted Mobile women to be able to have a real conversation," Figures said. "When women actually have a say in the decisions and policies that affect their lives, everyone in this state is better off."

Under the newly – restored 2023 congressional map, Mobile is no longer in Figures’ district, as it was until recently.

Both Doug Jones and Shomari Figures are expected to have highly competitive races for their respective offices in November.
